MONTHLY BOARD MEETING

MARCH 1, 2011

The meeting was called to order at 11:36 AM by the president, Arnold Martin.

Board members present were: Arnold Martin, Charles Schmidt, Charles Hosler, Esther Nachimson, Jim Wells, Barbara Hull and Fred Odell. Also, present was Katherine Pennington from the TLCA.

Board members not present were Garland Sherrod, Martin Kahn, Nell Anne Hunt, Anna Walther, Don McGee and Jennifer Davis. Also, not present were Pat Andres.

Minutes of the February will be approved next month.

Treasurer, Charles Hosler, reported 186 paid members to date and 68 of these were new members. $7, 800 were deposited in the first set of checks. Liquid assets are $31500. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Katherine Pennington stated that TLCA has installed a new sculpture at Flagpole Hill, “Photo of Autumn” and urged the board to see it. She reported they are looking at covenant enforcement in light of legislation pending in Austin. Oncor is scheduled to replace lights damaged during our winter storm. TLCA is planning a new park at Mandalay Place. The Entertainment Center is “shovel ready.”

Charles Schmidt stated there was a new organizational chart for the City of Irving which can be viewed at dallasnews.com. There will be a review for the city manager, Mr. Gonzales and for the fire chief.

Jim Wells said he had received 155 returns from the first mailing. 19 letters were returned for no apparent reason. The labels were addressed to “or occupant.”

The Block Captains were scheduled to begin calling on there residents on March 4^th. If there have been no responses by the 21^st of March, the information in the 2010 Yearbook will be used. It is scheduled to go to the printer on April 1.

Arnold announced, in the absence of Anna Walther, the appointment of 3 deputy chiefs:

1. Area A Scott Glover

2. Area B Nancy Heckman

3. Area C Penny Benardino

Fred O’Dell said the cards to be mailed for the Spring Fling on May 14^th will be mailed 2 weeks before and there will be a follow up phone call and signs placed on the medians. John DeMarco has the signs.

The Yard of the Month is the home of Craig and Kris McArdle at 300 Balboa.

The next board meeting will be April 5, 2011 and the Las Colinas Country Club at 11:30 AM. Board members who are having lunch are asked to come at 11:00.
